them your entire life, but that happened to me when I met Maggie.
Maggie came into my life when I was struggling to deny that something in my life was never going to
work out as I wished it to. I could imagine no calamity more monstrous than to have my fears proved
true. And I had been determined to hold onto my construct of reality, despite the obviousness of it
wearing out everyone that came within 500 meters. And yet, paradoxically, I was reaching out in the
dark for anything or anyone that could ease my struggle.
I believe I have done nothing good enough in my life to deserve, in my reaching out, connecting with
Maggie; I can imagine no one more perfect, in what she did for me. She didn’t tell me what to think or
what to do - - although often I wished she would, so I could argue against it somehow - - but she did
create a place where I could suspend involvement, see it in another light, evaluate and make choices,
and not just be OK with it, but be HAPPY with it AND, have the happiness be self-sustaining.
If the previous sentence doesn’t sound like all that much, I can tell you that what goes into helping all
that become a reality is IMMENSE. Just try doing that on your own. Few are equipped to help navigate
the maze, and incredibly few are born to it. And after that comes Maggie.
That Maggie made an astounding difference to my life, I hope this letter makes obvious. Yet as a
testament upon hearing she was entering the field of personal coaching, I wanted my experience with
her to be available to others despite not having seen her in, what must be, eleven-some years. Clearly, a
person I remember - - with something far more than gratitude.

Twenty years ago at the age of 30 as part of an intense Leadership course I was involved in, I had the privilege of being coached by Maggie Moon. This was a 90 day course and, as you can imagine, required quite a bit of sacrifice and stress. Maggie's calm demeanour and ability to focus outwardly on me had her consistently be able to be who she needed to be for me in any situation that arose. When I would be in a state that was counterproductive to success, she was able to have me redirect myself by coaching me to change my state of being to something that worked for me. She taught me to focus outwardly on others in a caring and compassionate way while being a strong force to motivate others to success. I've applied these lessons throughout my life over the past 20 years and believe that I'm much more successful then I would have been without the coaching I received from Maggie. She's a dear friend, caring motivator and one of the best coaches anyone could ask for.
